Well, if you want to delete a thought either it is
pleasant or unpleasant, and then
you have to delete the entire mind. Mind cannot
be eliminated as far as we are still alive. If life is there, then mind is
inevitably present in your living system.
As per the creation, when thoughts once created in your mind (memory), it cannot be deleted or
undone. But it can be weaken or ignored or entangled with some other positive
thoughts.
But if you try to delete or cut the thoughts, you will end up defeated in front
of the nature that has given this quality to our mind.
The moment you tell your mind to not to think about something, your mind takes
it as a command from you.
Then it starts working to not to project those to your consciousness. But we
can see the thoughts are intensified much more on that something.
It is because, your mind needs a base to work on your commands. Now the base of
work for your mind is that
something what you commanded your mind to don't remember.
It is like your mind is working like
My master told not to think monkey
And it will be working on monkey monkey monkey...
The best way to not to be disturbed by any painful thoughts is to "IGNORE
IT".
If you don't want any of your thoughts
to disturb you, then you have to simply ignore it than pushing away...
It is possible to weaken the thoughts by witnessing higher dimension or
perspective of life through which you can transcend your mind.
Be meditative... It is possible
